As Managing Director – India & Southwest Asia, Sunjae Sharma has been at the helm of
executing the company's operational and growth strategy in India. Sunjae has been associated
with Hyatt for over two decades and has held several leadership positions within the company,
prior to his current role.
A true hotelier at heart, Sunjae has been in the hospitality industry for almost three decades. As an industry veteran, he has been a part of the evolution of the hospitality sector in India. Apart from Hyatt, Sunjae has also contributed to several other hospitality brands prior to starting his stint with Hyatt in 2001.

Before being appointed as the Managing Director, Sunjae has held positions as the Vice
President & Country Head for India operations, and the Area Vice President for South & West
India and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Mumbai, where he oversaw the strategic and
financial performance of 16 hotels. While Sunjae provided support and strategic oversight to all
Hyatt brands in South & West India, under his able guidance and foresight, Grand Hyatt
Mumbai became an international benchmark for Hyatt as the multidimensional lifestyle
destination.
Sunjae has handled multiple roles at Hyatt’s most iconic properties across the country, such as General Manager, Hyatt Regency Chennai and Area Director for Bangalore, Chennai, Hampi, Kathmandu and Kolkata. He began his innings with the Grand Hyatt in Delhi as Director Food & Beverage and later moved to Hyatt Regency Kolkata as Director of Operations.
