K.B. Kachru is chairman emeritus and principal advisor of Radisson Hotel Group in South Asia and has played an instrumental role in building the Group’s business in India since 1998. K.B. continues to be on the governing board of the Group’s South Asia business entities including RHG’s Joint Venture companies.

K.B. is an active member of various Tourism and Hospitality Advisory Committees at the state and national levels. He is presently a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) National Tourism Committee, Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) of India, and Vice President of Hotel Association of India.
He has been on the board of directors for the Tourism Corporation of various state governments and on the board of governors of the Institute of Hotel Management in New Delhi. He also served as an executive member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) India Chapter, the American Society of Travel Agents of India, the Hotel Association of India (HAI), the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) and India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB).

He also spearheaded the formation of the Institute for International Management and Technology in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University, UK, and was also responsible for the introduction of arrival passenger duty-free shopping at India’s international airports.

He was awarded Global recognition for his contribution to Tourism at WTM London, UK, he is probably the only Hotel professional in India to have been awarded lifetime achievement awards by PATWA (PATA- Berlin), HICSA- South Asia, SATTE, Todays Traveller & Hotelier INDIA.

In 2016 he was bestowed the ‘Aathitya Ratna Award’ by the Hotel Investment Forum of India. He was recently awarded the ‘Hall of Fame’ award at Business World – BW Hotelier’s India Hospitality Awards 2022.
