Elie Maalouf was appointed Chief Executive Officer at IHG in July 2023. Prior to this, Elie served as Chief Executive Officer, Americas, from February 2015. Elie is responsible for the executive management of the Group and ensuring the implementation of Board strategy and policy.
He joined the Group having spent six years as President and Chief Executive Officer of HMSHost Corporation, where he was also a member of the board of directors.
Elie has broad global experience spanning hotel development, branding, finance, real estate, and operations management, as well as food and beverage expertise. Prior to joining IHG, Elie was a Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company from 2012 to 2014.
Elie is active in organizations that support and promote the travel and hospitality industries as a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association Executive Committee of the Board, and the U.S. Travel Association CEO Roundtable. In addition, Elie serves as a member of the Global Advisory Council at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, a board member of the Atlanta Committee for Progress, and a member of the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
