Vinay Dube founded Akasa in 2020 at the height of the COVID pandemic. As Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, Vinay has led the airline to reach a fleet size of 31 aircraft within 40 months of operations and has successfully enrolled marquee investors into the Akasa vision and business plan.

Akasa Air is one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world and is on course to become one of the top 30 airlines globally by the turn of the decade. The airline has served over 23 million passengers, connecting 26 cities in India and six cities internationally – Doha (Qatar), Jeddah, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Kuwait City (Kuwait) and Phuket (Thailand). Today, Akasa is home to 4600+ employees and has a firm order book of an additional 195 Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
Before Akasa, Vinay spent 27 years in US Aviation and has held leadership roles with American Airlines, Sabre Inc. and Delta Airlines. In India, he was also the CEO of Jet Airways and GoAir.

Vinay holds a post graduate degree in Operations Research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
