Amruda Nair is the Founder of Araiya Hotels & Resorts, a boutique hospitality brand reshaping India’s
luxury travel landscape. A third-generation hotelier from the family behind The Leela Group, the 43-
year-old entrepreneur blends a rich legacy in Indian hospitality with contemporary global perspectives.
Her academic foundation spans economics, hotel management and business, including studies at Cornell
University and Nanyang Business School, along with specialized training in the Netherlands.
Before
launching Araiya, she built international experience with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in New
York and with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels across Asia-Pacific, later returning to India to contribute to The
Leela’s operations and strategic expansion.
At Araiya, Amruda leads the development of design-led properties that celebrate local culture, sustainability and immersive experiences, reflecting her belief that modern luxury is rooted in authenticity and community connection rather than scale alone.
