Sumit Anand has over twenty-eight years of experience in real estate, corporate finance, and urban infrastructure across multiple business cycles in India.
He started his career in 1995 as part of the India founding office of CB Richard Ellis. In 2005, Sumit was appointed as the founding CEO of the Anand Rathi Realty Fund, one of the earliest real estate private equity funds in the country. Later, he joined Lehman Brothers as the Country Head for their Real Estate Investments business and built a USD 225 mn portfolio across equity, mezzanine, and high-yield debt.

In 2015, Sumit joined McKinsey & Company as a Senior Advisor and advised large public and private sector organizations on topics such as risk management, growth, and product development. In 2018, Sumit joined the GMR group as the Chief Business Officer of the Airports Real Estate business which consists of approximately 2000 acres of land parcels across four airports in India.
Sumit studied architecture at the School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, and has an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. He is also a qualified Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP) under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
